COURTNEY WEAVER UPDATE - This past Friday, a girl was shot in Arcata around 10 p.m. That’s all anyone knew until the next day, when word got out that the local girl was someone that the music community knows and loves — Courtney Weaver. Shot twice by her boyfriend, Weaver was flown to UC Davis for her shattered jaw and a gunshot through her right arm (which happened when she reflexively put her arm up to shield her face). She was in serious, but stable, condition when the news started to spread. One surgery and a wired-shut jaw later, Weaver was on Facebook on Sunday, assuring everyone that she’s alright and pleading for positivity from her friends and fans. Her account of what happened on Friday night, when her boyfriend snapped, was typed completely with her left hand. Friends and local music community members immediately pulled together and started planning benefit concerts for Weaver. The first one took place on Saturday night at the Red Fox Tavern, where Team BunnyBear Presents raised $500. A jar was going to be put out last night at the Boiler Room’s weekly open jam with host Kingbee, and the blues community continued the support at the Jambalaya, during their weekly blues jam they raised $2800 with Saint John and the Sinners.

Day 8 thru 10 - Saint John and Mona visited her and she is able to talk now and have lime popsicles, which she has been craving!
Day 7 - Courtney had her last surgery and is recovering at UC Davis.
Day 5 - Looks like I've got at least 4 more surgeries and a few more months til I'll be able to come back home but I'm already doing physical therapy and walikng around twice a day, gotta stay positive. Donna is with her now. She states: " She looks incredible. Her scars are going to be nothing. She's beautiful. She looks like she is 12 poor baby. So sweet. Way swollen!!!!!!!!!!. She's frustrated she cant talk & when she is frustrated you know it. Having some issues with her IV.
Day 4 - Out of ICU, feeling much better, I can feel all the warmth. Can't wait to be out, expecting to be back to my normal healthy self by April
